Passenger Terminal Amsterdam (PTA) lies on the IJ waterfront just east of Amsterdam Centraal, about 22 kilometres from Schiphol – typically a 25 to 35 minute drive. A private transfer takes you and all your cruise luggage from the arrivals hall to the terminal entrance.

Check your terminal before you book
Amsterdam has been reducing the number of sea-cruise calls in the city centre, and some cruises that are sold as “Amsterdam” actually embark in IJmuiden, about 30 minutes away on the North Sea coast. Always check the terminal and address in your cruise documents. If your ship departs from IJmuiden, see our IJmuiden cruise transfer page.
Planning embarkation day
Cruise lines give each passenger a check-in window. When booking, enter your ship name and departure time in the cruise field; we use it to plan your pickup and to warn you if the timing looks tight. For flights landing on embarkation day, allow for baggage reclaim and possible delays.
