Delft sits between The Hague and Rotterdam, about 55 kilometres from Schiphol – typically a 40 to 50 minute drive along the A4. It combines a picture-perfect canal centre with one of Europe’s leading technical universities.
Delft, Rijswijk and the Westland
Delft sits on the A13 corridor between The Hague and Rotterdam, so it is also a practical base for meetings in Rijswijk, the Westland greenhouse region and the port area. Visitors with a free afternoon often combine a stay with Royal Delft, the last remaining 17th-century Delftware factory, or a walk along the Oude Delft canal.
TU Delft and the historic centre
Visiting academics, students and companies often travel to the TU Delft campus and the adjacent Technopolis Innovation Park in the south of the city. The historic centre around the Markt is largely car-restricted; hotels there are reached via the nearest accessible street and your driver will help with luggage.
